Aine opens registration period to join Navalia’s 2026 Innovation Zone

The space, which will once again supported by Vigo’s Free Trade Zone, will be aimed at professionals, startups, and entrepreneurs in the shipbuilding sector.

The Spanish Association of Naval and Ocean Engineers (AINE) has just opened the application period to take part in the Navalia 2026 Innovation Zone, which will take place in Vigo from May 19 to 21. The space, which will again have the support of Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium, will be aimed at professionals, startups, and entrepreneurs in the naval sector who wish to showcase their projects and innovations to companies in the sector and attract investors to bring them to fruition. At the same time than Navalia Executive Committee meeting is being hold, AINE new president, Luis Guerrero, met with Abel Caballero, Mayor of Vigo and President of the Consortium, and David Regades, Vigo Free Trade Zone, State Delegate, to finalize details of this initiative, which seeks to support and encourage the entrepreneurial ecosystem and a culture of innovation within the shipbuilding sector.

Thus, until February 28th, entrepreneurs, startups, and professionals in the naval and maritime industry who wish to present an innovative idea or project to companies in the sector can do so through the form available on the AINE website, www.ingenierosnavales.com. Direct access to the form HERE.

Participation is free for entrepreneurs, who will have access to a 9-square-meter space. Projects from incubators of the various regional maritime clusters are also welcome. Furthermore, during the fair, an award will be given to the best initiative hosted in the Innovation Space. The jury will be composed of members of Navalia and AINE.

“Shipbuilding industry is experiencing an exciting moment, driven by digitalization, sustainability, and new energy models,” highlighted Luis Guerrero, president of AINE. “At the Association, we want to continue supporting talent and ideas that help transforming our industry. Investing in innovation, especially that one coming from new generations, is investing in a more competitive, efficient, and environmentally friendly future. We invite all professionals with creative initiatives to take the plunge and be an active part of this evolution in the maritime sector,” he emphasized.
