Eltorque strengthens its presence in the Spanish market with the opening of a new office in Vigo

The Norwegian company, with more than 28 years of experience in valve control systems, consolidates its international expansion from Galicia.

The Norwegian company Eltorque AS, specialized in the development and manufacturing of electric actuators and intelligent valve control systems for the maritime and offshore industries, has opened a new commercial office in Vigo with the aim of directly supporting the Spanish market.

Headquartered in Trondheim (Norway), Eltorque has more than 28 years of experience in the maritime sector and has supplied over 150,000 electric actuators installed on more than 1,200 vessels worldwide. The company is currently a market leader in Northern Europe. The opening of the Vigo office is part of the company’s international expansion strategy, as it already has commercial presence in the United States, Singapore, Germany, China, and the Netherlands.  From Vigo, Eltorque will provide technical and commercial support to Spanish shipyards, shipowners, and engineering companies, strengthening its proximity to one of the most important shipbuilding hubs in Southern Europe.

Eltorque develops valve control systems based on electric actuators that replace traditional pneumatic or hydraulic solutions. These technologies enable reduced weight and space onboard, lower installation and operating costs, and improved energy efficiency.

Among their main features are:

  • Maintenance-free systems designed for the full lifetime of the vessel
  • Real-time monitoring through the use of encoders
  • Full control of torque, speed, and temperature
  • Failsafe options with integrated emergency power supply
  • Robust CAN bus implementation for reliable communication

The company actively works on developing solutions aligned with the maritime sector’s energy transition, focusing on maintenance-free, energy-efficient, and fully electric systems.
Its actuators can be integrated into all types of ship technical systems as ballast, fuel, HVAC, heat recovery, and other critical onboard systems.
With this new office in Vigo, Eltorque reinforces its commitment to the Spanish market and its ambition to become a key technological partner for newbuilding and retrofit projects in the naval sector.

Eltorque will be present at Navalia 2026 in Vigo, Spain (May 19–21).

You will find the Eltorque team in Hall 1, Stand #1A40.
We will be delighted to welcome you and discuss how our intelligent and green valve control solutions can support your projects.
