San Enrique Launches Boilermaker Training Programme to Address Skilled Labour Shortage

The shipyard launches a specialised training initiative in collaboration with Formavigo, part of the Tesol Group, and leading companies from the auxiliary shipbuilding industry.

Astilleros San Enrique will launch a specialised training programme in shipbuilding boilermaking and marine piping next September to help meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the Galician shipbuilding industry. The initiative, aimed at unemployed individuals with no previous experience required, positions training as a tool for both social and industrial innovation, supporting generational renewal and attracting new talent to one of Galicia's strategic industries. The programme will be delivered at the shipyard's facilities in collaboration with Formavigo, part of the Tesol Group, and forms part of the Xunta de Galicia's Galicia Suma Talento programme.

The initiative responds to the future workforce needs of a growing organisation.

The programme will be delivered under a training-with-employment-commitment model, helping participants transition into the labour market while providing new professional opportunities.

One of the project's key strengths is the direct involvement of the business network that regularly collaborates with Astilleros San Enrique. Auxiliary companies from the shipbuilding sector—Vtube, Fermonavi, Domayo Metal, CIN Naval and Promegal—not only will provide professional work placements but have also committed to recruiting programme participants upon completion of the training pathway, thereby improving the trainees' employment prospects.
